Dress in STYLE

The revival of bold prints and vivid colours has collided with the return of the dress to ring in the summer. Saint International's Style Week, which ran from May 24 to 27, showcased an array of flirty, sexy, fashionable dresses that could be worn straight off the runway.

In the 18th century the word 'dress' meant something different from how we use it today the basic concepts are the same, the styles have definitely evolved. Dress, then, meant formal clothing worn with a corset, pantaloons, and slips. However, in modern society the dress has taken on new trends. There are those that might suggest a baby is in the works and would be pretty if you were pregnant. Then, there is the square dress with a T-shaped bodice and fabric flowing loosely from it. This style, usually made of sturdy cotton, is ideal for work as it washes and wears well. However, don't forget the range of figure-hugging cotton dresses that are perfect for any casual occasion.

Denise sports a contemporary twist to the three-sister ensemble designed by Neah Lis. Extended satin ribbings add colour and panache to a traditional outfit. The vibrant colour purple just below the bust and second hemline add a burst of colour that is echoed in the shoes worn with the outfit.
